Come promesso, eccomi qui ad aggiornare.
Quest’ anno non abbiamo avuto un’idea migliore di quella dell’anno scorso su come trascorrere Ferragosto, dunque ci siamo recati come al solito alla riserva naturale di Arcola (La Spezia) nei pressi del fiume Magra. Rispetto allo scorso anno abbiamo trovato quasi un metro di fango seccato che ricopriva tutta l’area, dovuto all’alluvione di quest’inverno che ha colpito la nostra zona ligure. Nonostante ciò, ci siamo accampati con asciugamani, borse frigo, chitarre, carte e macchine fotografiche all’ombra degli alberi, mentre i ragazzi si occupavano del barbecue. Abbiamo passato il pomeriggio lì e di sera siamo andati in spiaggia a Marinella. Con il buio l’unica cosa che ci è venuta in mente è stata di fare un po’ di light-painting con la pila della Silvia. Così è volata la serata!

As I promised, here I am to update.
This year we had not original ideas of ​​how to spend the 15th of August, so we went to the natural reserve of Arcola (La Spezia) near the river Magra, as we did last year. We found a yard of dried mud that covered the entire area due to the flooding this winter that hit our area of Liguria. Nevertheless, we camped with towels, mini bags, guitars, maps and cameras in the shade of the trees, while the boys took care of the barbecue. We spent the afternoon there and in the night we went to the beach in Marinella. With the darkness the only thing that came to mind was to do light-painting with the stack of Silvia. So flew the night!

Un’altra cosa! In questi giorni abbiamo ospitato a casa il compagno di convitto di mio fratello, Lorenzo. Ha portato con sé la sua bellissima Nikon (non ricordo affatto il modello, devo vergognarmi?) e mi ha lasciato l’onore di divertirmi a modificare i suoi scatti con i programmi di editing. Queste sono le sue foto, scattate da lui e ritoccate (ahimè, rovinate) da me.

One more thing! These days we have hosted my brother’s roommate, Lorenzo. He brought with him his beautiful Nikon (I can’t remember the model at all, shall I be ashamed?) and gave me the honor of edit his photos with my editing softwares. These are his photos, taken by him and edited (alas, damaged) by me.

Purtroppo ultimamente non sto girando molto e le volte che esco di casa non trovo mai l’occasione per fare qualche foto un po’ differente, perché la compagnia e le circostanze non me lo consentono. E’ una cosa abbastanza frustrante, ma non mi sono persa d’animo e in questi caldi giorni non ho trovato soggetti migliori da fotografare che le mie gatte. Non vedo l’ora di fare un viaggetto in qualche bella località e sbizzarrirmi un po’, ma mi vergogno a desiderare un altra vacanza visto che sono già stata a Ibiza il mese scorso! Proprio vero che non si è mai contenti…

Unfortunately, I’m not going round a lot lately and whenever I leave the house I never find an opportunity to take some different pictures, because the company and the circumstances do not allow me. It is rather frustrating, but I did not lose heart and in these hot days I have not found better subjects to photograph than my cats. I cannot wait to take a trip to some beautiful places and delight a bit, but I’m ashamed to want another holiday as I have already been to Ibiza last month! It’s really true that you are never satisfied…

L’entrata.

Gli inizi sono sempre un po’ difficili e spesso poco soddisfacenti. Quindi farò un ingresso in medias res, così voi non vi annoiate e io mi risparmio la spremuta di meningi per cercare di esordire in maniera originale e brillante…
Il buono dell’estate è che ho un sacco di tempo libero, e stamattina ho provato a fare qualche semplice scatto applicando dei filtri homemade di cartoncino e carta velina verde (mi sono capitati sotto mano mentre sistemavo una vecchia scatola). Ho provato a conferire alle foto l’ormai diffusissimo ma tanto amato ed espressivo effetto vintage. Ecco i risultati.

Beginnings are always a little difficult and often unsatisfactory. So I’ll input in medias res, so you will not get bored and I’m saving the juice of brains to try to debut in an original and brilliant way…
One of summer’s advantages is that I have a lot of free time, and this morning I tried to do some simple shooting applying homemade cardboard and green tissue paper filters (they came to hand while I was tiding up an old box). I tried to give the picture the widespread, so loved and expressive vintage effect. Here are the results.

Nella foto qua sotto non ho applicato alcun filtro, è uno scatto notturno di ieri sera mal riuscito e che ho volontariamente “rovinato”.
